About the role
The Degree Gap is looking for enthusiastic online GCSE Science tutors to support students across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This is a flexible freelance role, ideal for experienced tutors, teachers, graduates, postgraduate students or subject specialists who enjoy helping students build confidence and improve their grades.
You will work with students online through our tutoring platform, delivering clear, engaging and personalised lessons based on each student’s needs. Most students will be preparing for GCSE exams, so strong knowledge of the GCSE Science curriculum is important.
What you will do
Plan and deliver online GCSE Science lessons
Support students with Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics
Help students improve exam technique and confidence
Adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and ability levels
Provide clear explanations, feedback and guidance
Communicate professionally with students and families where needed
Who we are looking for
Strong knowledge of GCSE Science
2 to 3 years of tutoring experience preferred
Ability to explain difficult concepts clearly
Reliable, professional and friendly approach
Previous tutoring or teaching experience essential
Confidence working with students online
Enhanced DBS preferred, or willingness to obtain one
