1. About our services
Tutor Roles provides an online platform where employers can advertise tutoring vacancies and applicants can search and apply for tutoring roles.
Our paid services may include job listings, featured listings, promotional upgrades, subscriptions, recruitment packages, employer account features, or other employer services made available on our website from time to time.
2. Free applicant accounts
Applicants can use Tutor Roles to browse and apply for suitable roles. Where no payment has been made by an applicant, no refund will be due.
3. Employer purchases
Unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase, payments made by employers for job listings, featured listings, promotional upgrades, recruitment packages, employer account features, subscriptions, or similar services are non-refundable once the relevant service has started.
A service is treated as having started once we have begun providing the paid service, including where:
- a job listing has been submitted, published, or made available for review;
- a featured listing or promotional upgrade has started;
- access to a paid employer feature, dashboard, subscription, or package has been activated;
- we have started reviewing, processing, or preparing a submitted listing; or
- we have otherwise started providing the service purchased.
No refund will be provided where:
- an employer decides they no longer wish to advertise the role;
- the role is filled earlier than expected;
- the employer receives fewer views, applications, enquiries, or successful hires than expected;
- the employer makes an error in the listing information, unless the error was caused by us;
- the employer fails to use the purchased service during the relevant access period;
- the employer purchases the wrong service, package, or upgrade; or
- the employer changes their recruitment plans after purchase.
We do not guarantee that any job listing will receive a particular number of views, applications, enquiries, suitable candidates, or successful hires.
4. Cancellations before a service starts
If you purchase a paid service and contact us before the service has started, we may cancel the order and issue a refund at our discretion.
Once the service has started, no refund will be provided except where required by law, where we are at fault, or where we agree otherwise in writing.
5. Refunds where we are at fault
We will offer a full or partial refund where:
- we have charged you in error;
- you have been charged twice for the same purchase;
- we are unable to provide the paid service you purchased;
- a technical issue caused by us prevents the purchased service from being provided; or
- we have materially failed to provide the service as described.
Where possible, we may correct the issue instead of providing a refund. For example, we may republish a listing, extend a listing period, apply a missing promotion, provide replacement access, or provide a credit against a future purchase.
6. Job listings removed for breach of our terms
We may refuse, suspend, or remove a job listing if we reasonably believe it breaches our Terms and Conditions, our listing rules, applicable law, safeguarding standards, or the standards we expect on Tutor Roles.
Where a listing is refused, suspended, or removed because of a breach by the employer, no refund will be provided.
We may, at our sole discretion, offer a credit, replacement listing, or partial refund in exceptional circumstances, but we are not required to do so.
7. Subscriptions and recurring payments
Where we offer subscriptions or recurring billing, you can cancel your subscription in accordance with the cancellation process shown on the website or by contacting us.
Cancelling a subscription will stop future renewals, provided the cancellation is completed before the next renewal date.
Cancellation does not refund payments already made for the current billing period, unless required by law or agreed by us in writing.
If a subscription renews because it was not cancelled before the renewal date, the renewal payment is non-refundable once the renewed service period has started, unless required by law or agreed by us in writing.
8. Credits, packages, and unused services
Where you purchase credits, listing packages, bundles, or similar services, those purchases are non-refundable once access to the credits, package, bundle, or service has been activated.
Unused credits, listings, package allowances, or service entitlements have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for a refund, unless required by law or agreed by us in writing.
Any expiry period shown at the point of purchase will apply. If a credit, listing, package, or service entitlement expires before it is used, no refund will be provided.
9. Consumer cancellation rights
Most purchases on Tutor Roles are expected to be made by employers acting for business purposes. Business customers do not have the same statutory cancellation rights as consumers.
If you are purchasing from us as a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel certain online purchases within 14 days.
Where you ask us to begin providing a service during the 14-day cancellation period, you acknowledge that you may lose your right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. If you cancel after the service has started but before it has been fully performed, you may be required to pay for the part of the service already provided.
Where you purchase digital content or immediate digital access, you may lose your right to cancel once access begins, provided you have given the required consent and acknowledgement.
Nothing in this Refund Policy affects any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
10. How to request a refund
To request a refund, please contact us at support@tutorroles.co.uk and include:
- your name;
- your company name, if applicable;
- the email address used for the purchase;
- the date of purchase;
- the service purchased;
- the reason for your refund request; and
- any relevant screenshots, receipts, or payment references.
We may ask for further information to help us review your request.
11. How refunds are processed
Where a refund is approved, we will refund the original payment method used for the purchase, unless this is not possible or we agree another method with you.
Refunds may take several working days to appear in your account, depending on your bank, card provider, or payment processor.
12. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you believe there has been an error with a payment, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue.
We reserve the right to suspend access to paid services while a payment dispute, chargeback, or unpaid invoice is being investigated.
If a chargeback or payment dispute is raised in relation to a valid payment, we may suspend or terminate access to the relevant paid service.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on TutorRoles.co.uk and will apply from the date shown at the top of the policy.
